Quota: The candidates who have qualified through NEET UG conducted by NTA can participate in the KEA UG NEET counselling for admission in Khaja Bandanawaz University - Faculty of Medical Sciences under following Quota

  1. State Quota – Govt Seats – 25%
  2. Management Quota – Private seats – 55%
  3. NRI Quota – Private seats – 15%
  4. Others Quota – 5%

 

State Quota: Karnataka is one of the states which offers State Quota seats in its private medical colleges under NEET UG. Karnataka Government have reserved 25% of the total seats of Karnataka Religious and Linguistic Minority Professional Colleges Association, KRLMPCA (Minority Private Medical Colleges in Karnataka) for meritorious students of its states at a reduced fee structure. State Quota Fee Structure is higher than Govt college fee structure and comparatively lower than the management quota fee structure. Only Karnataka candidates are eligible and state reservation policy (Category/Caste reservation) is applicable for such State Quota seats. Karnataka candidate who has qualified NEET UG conducted by NTA can apply under following state quota seats to get admission in Khaja Bandanawaz University - Faculty of Medical Sciences

  • Government General Quota – For all Karnataka Candidates
  • Hyderabad Karnataka Quota – Reservation under article 371(J). 70% of seats reserved for students from the Hyderabad-Karnataka region.
  • Special Category Seats - For all Karnataka Candidates

Note: Khaja Bandanawaz University - Faculty of Medical Sciences is situated in Gulbarga which comes under Hyderabad-Karnataka region. Hence its 70% seats are reserved for Hyderabad-Karnataka region candidates as per reservation under article 371(J).

 

Management Quota – Any candidates who has qualified through NEET UG are eligible for management quota seats. The candidates who are not domiciled in the state of Karnataka are also eligible. There is no reservation based on caste or PwD status. Khaja Bandanawaz University - Faculty of Medical Sciences is a Religious (Muslim) Minority College, Hence, 66% Management Quota seats are reserved for Muslim Minority candidates. 50% of the balance seats are reserved for the Karnataka candidates and rest 50% seats are open for All India candidates.

 

NRI Quota: 15% seats. The candidates who have qualified through NEET UG and 

  • NRI / NRI Wards / PIO / OCI candidates or Foreign Nationals.
  • Children of Non-resident Indian or their Wards (As per Hon’ble High Court in WP Nos.17999-18002/2017).
  • As per the definition defined in The Karnataka Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Determination of Fee) Act, 2006 read with the Karnataka Professional Educational Institutions (Regulation of Admission and Determination of Fee) (Amendment) Act, 2017 and the Income Tax Act 1961 Section 115 C (e) & 6, i.e., " Non Resident Indian" means an individual resident outside India who is a citizen of India or is a Person of Indian Origin and includes Persons of Indian Origin and Overseas Citizens of India.

 

Others Quota: 5% seats. Open to all NEET UG qualified candidates except NRI / PIO / OCI and Foreign National.

 

Documents Required for NRI Quota Seats

  • Final print out of the KEA Online Registration Form.
  • UG NEET Admission Ticket and Score Card
  • Any valid Identity Card (Driving License / Voter ID / Passport / PAN / Aadhar Card)
  • SSLC / 10th Standard Marks Card of the candidate
  • 2nd PUC / 12th Standard Marks Card of the candidate
  • 2nd PU /12th standard Study Certificate issued by concerned college with seal signature of Principal
  • TWO recent passport size photographs
  • Candidate's parents resident certificate issued by the Embassy of that country complying with the Income Tax Rules / any other certificates to establish evidence that they are resident of that country / affidavit on Rs.100/- e-stamp paper to that effect.
  • Candidate's passport / VISA / Resident VISA.
  • Income Tax Documents required as per the Income Tax Act 1961.
  • Candidate's study certificate for having studied outside India where applicable for the qualifying examination.
  • Foreign Nationals will have to produce the eligibility certificate issued by the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore to KEA. They have to produce the equivalence certificate issued by the Association of Indian Universities, Delhi for verification. (AOI)

For medical colleges located in the Hyderabad Karnataka Region, 70% of the seats are reserved for students from the Hyderabad-Karnataka region. For rest of the medical colleges in the Karnataka State, 8% of the seats will be reserved for students from the Hyderabad-Karnataka region.

 

Counselling Process

KEA UG NEET counselling process involves the following steps

  1. Registration: Register Online with NEET details, generate candidate profile with Personal & Academic details and pay the Registration Fee and Counselling Security Deposit online via Debit Card/Credit Card/UPI/Net Banking.
  2. Document Verification: Physical verification of documents at KEA, Bangalore on scheduled date & time. Non-Karnataka candidates need NOT to appear for documents verification except if they apply for NRI Ward, Religious Minority or eligible under Category-2 to Category-8 in St. John Medical College, Bangalore.
  3. Choice Filling & Locking: Online choice filling of preferred colleges in descending order followed by choice locking within scheduled date & time.
  4. Seat Allotment / Result Declaration: KEA releases the combined seat allotment list for Govt as well as Private medical colleges. Seat allotment is purely based on Merit (State Merit List based on AIR).
  5. Reporting at the Institute/Centre: After paying prescribed fee on KEA portal and downloading allotment letter, candidate has to physically report to the college with all the original documents.

Age Requirement

Minimum age of 17 years by admission or before December 31st of the joining year.

Educational qualifications

Candidate must have passed in Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English individually and must have obtained a minimum of 50% marks taken together in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Bio-technology at the qualifying examination as mentioned in the Regulations of NMC and DCI.

Candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, or Other Backward Classes (NCL), the minimum marks obtained in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology taken together in the qualifying examination shall be 40% marks

Qualifying Year

Candidates who have passed Class XII or appearing for Class XII in the Academic Year are eligible for NEET UG exam, subject to fulfilling other conditions.
