OVERVIEW

BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) is an Ayurvedic Medicine undergraduate course. The course duration is 5.5-years (Course Duration 4,5 years + 1 year Internship). By Combining modern medical knowledge with traditional Ayurveda this course has been built. It is recognized by the National Commission for Indian System of Medicine (NCISM).

By doing this course students learn about Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Pharmacology, Surgery, Panchakarma, and Ayurvedic principles. After completion candidates have various career opportunities. Graduates can become Ayurvedic doctors, researchers, or pursue higher studies (MD/MS in Ayurveda).Admission is based on NEET-UG scores.

Eligibility Criteria

BAMS Eligibility Criteria:

1. Educational Qualification:

  • Must have passed 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry, Biology (PCB).
  • Minimum 50% marks (General), 40% (SC/ST/OBC) in PCB subjects.

2. Age Criteria:

  • Minimum age: 17 years (as of 31st December of the admission year).
  • Maximum age: No upper age limit (as per NEET-UG).

Counselling and Admission

Admission to BAMS (Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery) is based on NEET-UG scores, followed by counselling conducted by AACCC & State Authorities.

BAMS Counselling conducted by:

  • All India Quota (15%) → AACCC (Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee)
  • State Quota (85%) → Respective State Counselling Authorities

Step-by-Step BAMS Admission Process:

Step 1: Appear for NEET-UG

  • NEET-UG is compulsory for BAMS admissions in all AYUSH colleges.

Step 2: Qualify NEET-UG & Check Cutoff

  • Candidates must score at least 50th percentile (General) or 40th percentile (SC/ST/OBC) in NEET-UG.
  • NEET Cutoff for BAMS varies by college and state.

Step 3: Register for AYUSH Counselling (AACCC & State Counselling)

  • Two Types of Counselling:
    ✔ All India Quota (AIQ) - 15% Seats → Conducted by AACCC (Ayush Admissions Central Counselling Committee)
    ✔ State Quota (85%) - State Govt. Seats → Conducted by respective State Counseling Authorities.

Step 4: Choice Filling & Locking

  • Candidates select preferred colleges during counselling.
  • Fill choices based on NEET score, seat availability & college preference.
  • Lock choices before the deadline.

Step 5: Seat Allotment & Reporting to College

  • Allotment based on: NEET rank, seat availability, category, and reservation.
  • Seat allotment results are released online in multiple rounds (Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round).
  • After allotment, candidates must report to the allotted college for document verification & fee payment.
