OVERVIEW
Sathyabama Institute of Science and Technology (SIST), previously known as Sathyabama University, is one of the oldest universities in India. It is recognized by the University Grants Commission (UGC), has ISO 9001:2008 certification, and holds an ‘A++’ accreditation from NAAC. In the NIRF 2024 rankings, it was placed 85th overall, while it secured 31st position in The Week 2024 rankings. Founded in 1987, SIST is a private, STEM-focused, and deemed university offering over 100 UG, PG, and doctoral programs across more than 15 departments. Admission to the BTech program is based on JEE Mains or the SAEEE entrance exam, followed by counseling, while MBA and MCA admissions depend on scores from CAT, MAT, CMAT, XAT, or the Sathyabama Entrance Exam.

- Library: Sathyabama University has a 25,000 sq. ft. central library with a vast collection of 60,000 books. It subscribes to 334 national and international journals and provides access to MALIBNET, IIT Library, and the British Council Library.
- Mess Hall: The university has a spacious mess hall that accommodates 2,000 people at a time. It features separate floors for vegetarian and non-vegetarian dining, along with an attached bakery and ice-cream-making unit.
- Hostel: There are five boys' hostels and five girls' hostels with well-furnished rooms. Facilities include a gym, salon, ATM, medical lab, study room, yoga, dance classes, and laundry services.
- Sports Complex: The university offers a modern sports complex with courts for badminton, basketball, tennis, and volleyball. It also has a cricket ground, football field, hockey ground, and a 400m running track.
- Shuttle Service: Sathyabama University operates over 100 buses for students and faculty across the city. Special buses leave at 6 p.m. daily for students attending extra classes and library sessions.
- Labs: The university has state-of-the-art labs for various disciplines, including civil, chemistry, computer, electrical, and mechanical engineering. Advanced facilities include VLSI, embedded systems, fluid mechanics, and RDBMS labs.
- Other Facilities: The campus features a fully equipped gym, an on-campus hospital, and Wi-Fi access. It also has an auditorium for events and a music facility for student activities.
