The National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET-UG) 2026, the country’s largest medical entrance examination, has received an important update as the National Testing Agency (NTA) extended the registration deadline for applicants. The decision was taken to give medical aspirants additional time to complete their application process and avoid last-minute difficulties.

According to the latest notification, candidates can now submit their NEET UG 2026 application form until March 11, 2026, up to 9 PM through the official website. Earlier, the deadline for submitting the application form was March 8, 2026, but the authorities decided to extend it after receiving requests from students who faced technical issues and required more time to complete the process.

The NEET UG examination is conducted every year by the National Testing Agency, which is responsible for organizing major national-level entrance examinations in India. NEET serves as the single entrance test for admission to undergraduate medical courses, including MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other allied health programs offered by government and private medical colleges across the country.

As per the official schedule, NEET UG 2026 will be conducted on May 3, 2026, in offline (pen-and-paper) mode at examination centers across India. The exam will be held from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM, with a total duration of three hours.

Following the closure of the application window, NTA is expected to open an application correction window, allowing candidates to make necessary changes to certain details in their submitted forms. After this stage, the exam city intimation slip and admit card will be released ahead of the examination date.

NEET remains one of the most competitive entrance examinations in the country, with millions of students appearing each year to secure admission to top medical colleges. Education experts advise candidates to carefully review their application details and complete the process before the final deadline to avoid disqualification.

With the exam date approaching, aspirants are now focusing on final preparation while keeping track of important updates issued by the examination authorities.
