OVERVIEW
Vel Tech Rangarajan Dr. Sagunthala R&D Institute of Science and Technology, commonly known as Vel Tech University, was established in 1997 in Avadi, Chennai. It is a deemed private university accredited with an A++ grade by NAAC and NBA. Initially affiliated with the University of Madras, it later shifted to Anna University in 2001 before attaining deemed university status in 2008. Vel Tech is ranked 96th in the University category and 86th in the Engineering category by NIRF 2024.Vel Tech has global collaborations with over 390 institutions across 30 countries and has signed MoUs with 171+ institutions for academic and research exchange. It offers around 50 programs across UG, PG, and PhD levels at affordable fees.
